BEDROCK No.603C Stanley - "FLAT TOP" - EXCELLENT CONDITION!! AS GOOD AS THEY GET!! Corrugated Sole. Later style "Flat Top" casting but still early enough to have a "BEDROCK" lever cap. Highly valued by both users and collectors!! EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION with no consequential damage of any sort. There is no rusting, pitting, chipping or dinging anywhere in the metal or wood. Japanning remains 99% intact and the Rosewood still has its original finish. Plenty of steel remains on the nicely sharpened and honed iron. The "BEDROCK" lever cap, two patent dates to the rear of the frog and Stanley's "V" trademark on the iron unmistakably identify the plane as an early "Type 6" (1914-18). This well-cared for plane has been cleaned to high user / collector standards and is ready to go back to work (or into the collection if you insist). No. 3 size is particularly well suited for the skilled craftsman with occasional need for a handplane. Its smaller size does not take a lot of getting used to and is easier to control than a No.4 or larger plane. And the later style Stanley Bedrock is the "best there ever was." The No. 603C Bedrock remains much in demand today even though it was (sadly) discontinued by Stanley in 1935. This truly is a great plane for users and there is a very high quality reproduction on the market which is every bit as good. Problem is - just like a new car - the minute you drive it off the dealer's lot, the value plummets. But if you buy a fine old vintage plane like this one and take care of it, you can always put it back on eBay and get your money back and maybe, if you are lucky, even put a little extra change in your pocket! These great old Bedrocks, especially the later style (flat top) corrugated ones in good or better user/collector condition, seem to be rapidly disappearing from the market. And this OUTSTANDING Stanley BEDROCK No. 603 CORRUGATED could disappear right before your very eyes if one of those rascally eBay snipers pops up at the last second to shoot it out from under you. So stake your position on solid bedrock - BUY IT NOW!!
