In contrast to other bicycle bells, this bell has a startling loudness to it.  So, care must be taken to apply the striker gently when closely passing joggers, walkers, skaters and other cyclists.  Full strike loudness is a great option for warning folks of your approach from way back. 

Just makes every pass on the left a bit more of an adventure!  In this case a big adventure.  A real converstion piece.  You're going to make new friends whether you want em or not.
