The remote and power adapter will be included. No cables will be included. The firmware is not up to date as I haven't used the player in some time. I hooked it up to test it and it found new firmware, but I didn't update it. But if you buy this item you will have the option to update the firmware. This version has an Ethernet port on the back, but you can also attach a USB Wireless Adapter to the side USB port to turn it into a wireless player. It has HDMI, optical, RCA, and component connections. What this device does, and if you are looking at this I'm sure you already know, is it allows you to stream video, audio or pictures from hard drives attached to your computer to your home entertainment center over your network.
