"Ich wollte eine Gestaltsform schaffen, die zeitlos ist, Freude bereitet und über Generationen hinweg Erinnerungen
wachrufen soll", so Sarpaneva.

"Suomi" erhielt die Goldmedaille von Faenza, die höchste Auszeichnung, die eine Porzellanform erringen kann.

Träger der "Medaglia dÓro 1976", ausgezeichnet mit "Die gute Industrieform , iF 1977 und 1980", Gewinner des Hauptpreis "IGP Polen 1979" sowie 1992 aufgenommen in die ständige Sammlung des Centre George Pompidou Paris.

An keiner anderen Form wurde so lange gearbeitet wie an diesem Sarpaneva-Entwurf.
