Up for sale is a Zeiss Ikon Mess-Ikonta medium format folding camera with 75mm f/3.5 lens with Prontor SV shutter (s/n U73899 - Germany)
- Camera is in excellent cosmetic condition with only minor signs of use - see photos. EX+, MINTY condition, fantastic for a camera from the 1950s.
- The Prontor SV shutter appears to be accurate on speeds higher than 1/25: perfect for hand held shooting. Slower speeds may loosen up after repeated cycling.
- Self timer is slow, but does work.
- Novar-Anastigmat glass is clean and clear.
- No oil or residue on aperture blades.
- Bellows are in great shape with no pin holes or tears.
- Advance knob moves smoothly.
- Viewfinder is clean and clear. Uncoupled rangefinder works, but the double-image is slightly off on the vertical plane: Does not make focusing difficult.
- Camera has been thoroughly cycled through, but not film tested.
- Made from 1951-1955 and considered one of the best and most prolific on the IKONTA line, the 524/16 (also known as Ikonta-M or Mess-Ikonta) has multiple lens and shutter choices. This camera has the 75mm f/3.5 Novar lens with Prontor-SV shutter. This kit features:
- Speeds from 1 second to 1/300 and B
- Aperture from f/3.5 to f/32
- M & X flash sync
- Self timer
- Uncoupled rangefinder
- Takes 12 6x6 shots on a roll of 120 film
- Set includes original Zeiss Ikon leather case (1230/16) in excellent condition.
