These pipes are made to the highest standards in Pesaro, Italy, and the hand carved pebble finish on this pipe is super nice. Started in 1972 by Terenzio Cecchini and Giancarlo Guidi, Mastro de Paja has long been recognized as one of the finest hand made pipes in the world. In 1980, Guidi left to start Ser Jacopo at a time when Mastro was becoming one of the largest hand made pipe companies in Italy. When Alberto Montini took the reigns of the company he cut back production and stressed quality over quantity, assembling a team of five of Italy's finest carvers to return the company to world wide prominence. Noted for the superb graining of the carefully chosen highest quality briar, inventive and expert silver work, and the genius designs of Montini, the Mastro de Paja pipe is a jewel highly regarded in anyone's collection.

Estate Pipes are pre-owned and pre-smoked , They may show wear, teethmarks, scorch marks on the rim, scratches, cake in the bowl, fills or dents. We make no warranty as to their suitability for your use, how they were drilled, how they smoke or finished and for any manufacturing complaint you must contact the manufacturer directly because I didn't make the pipe. (Briar is a root and 90% contains natural flaws and fills) Modern lacquered pipes have these flaws hidden. Very few pipes reach high grades that are free of flaws and are stamped with a numeric grade which will be announced as such, please be realistic . . We made a big effort to closely photograph each pipe when we put it up for auction. The description in my listings reflects my personal opinion as a seller and should have no value in your final decision.
