Artisan Handcut Drusy Psilomelane Gemstone Pendant

This insanely cool handcut artisan gemstone is from "old stock" personally collected by the Lapidary artist, Peter Ehret, years ago in New Mexico, USA. The front features exceptionally sparkly charcoal grey and black drusy crystals. The sides feature smoothly polished shiny metallic-looking rich black psilomelane with really interesting pattern formations that reach up and around the drusy to cradle it.  Some of the areas are surrounded by a lighter quartz outline, creating a beautiful and interesting contrast. The back is flat and smoothly polished with one tiny drusy pocket in the center, and one on the bottom edge. The sides are amazing the way the psilomelane flows in swirls around the edges. Not Drilled Locality:  New Mexico, USA Handmade at The Glass Slipper Lapidary Studio, Texas, USA

ABOUT THE GLASS SLIPPER LAPIDARY (located outside of Austin, Texas, USA)

  • We are a 2 person design team providing attention to detail, exceptional personal service and custom services upon request.

    • Peter Ehret is the master lapidary who cuts every stone in our store. He has been practicing the art for over 40 years. He is also a jewelry designer.

    • Susan Wyatt takes pictures and writes descriptions of Pete’s work. She is also a jewelry designer and enjoys helping other designers with their questions/selections. She will take pictures of stones side by side for comparison when selecting - just contact her from listing to begin a dialogue.

  • Our design studio is located in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country about an hour outside of Austin along the banks of the glorious Colorado River in a town called Granite Shoals.  We love the fact that we work with rocks all day and our workshop sits upon a bedrock of granite.  The state capitol of Texas was made from the “Sunset Red” granite excavated from the ground upon which we live and work.
