THE IDEAL UNIVERSAL TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROLLER, PERFECT FOR INCANDESCENT and LED LIGHTS

A great size for easy installation, only 2 ½  X  3 ¼ inches (82.5 x 63.5 mm).  A controller small enough to install into most any traffic light or signal.   There are 19 installed sequences, from the standard US Green, Yellow and Red to random flashing.  All sequences and wiring diagrams are included in our easy to follow illustrated instruction sheets shipped with each unit. Do not be afraid to play with the sequence switches, try them all and see the patterns displayed by the on board LED indicator lights. Sequence number one is factory set for shipping.  Included in the package, one two wire with ground 6 foot power cord, mounting hardware, and instructions are all packaged in the box with the controller. There are two other  voltages available in this  three circuit  configuration, SL– 3007 12 Volt AC/DC, SL-3008 120 volts, and SL– 3009 240 volts, all at the same price. United States and Canada shipped standard 120 Volts. Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe and Africa are shipped standard 240 Volt controllers.  Power cord has US 120 volt plug.  For other voltages, customer will have to provide an adapter for their system.

Let us know if you require a special sequence, we may be able to help you.

This is not a light weight controller, but a commercial grade unit. Voltage spike protected at the line input, step down transformer for better low-voltage control and reliability in the electronic section. Heavy duty relays (10 amp) are used for positive switching control with loads up to 500 watts (4 amps) at 120 volts, more than enough for incandescent, LED, light inductive loads and controlling two traffic lights wired in parallel. For the lowest operating cost, and easiest maintenance, especially for high mounted traffic lights, and maximum controller life, LED lights are by far the best choice, 17,000 hours or more.  Suggested lamp wattage in LED would be 6 to 15 watts for indoors, 15 to 20 watts outside. Incandescent, 25 watts inside, 35 to 55 watts outdoors.  Incandescent burnouts, and inductive loads can create reverse voltage spikes, which can damage solid-state switches.  Also solid state switches can have a problem with LED lights with flickering in the off state. The output section of the microchip in our controller is isolated from any feedback voltage which may be generated, making this controller the perfect choice for your traffic light or railroad grade crossing signal unit. SPECIAL NOTE: the input voltage and the output voltage are always the same, 120 Volts in, 120 Volts out.  Each light, Red, Yellow, and Green has its own time setting control. Change the timing on one light, without affecting the other lights.  A power outage will not change any of the operations or settings.

All controllers are brand-new, fully tested and USA made in our manufacturing facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We ship worldwide via USPS. Shipping first class package in the United States weighing 13 oz. or less, over 13 oz. shipped priority mail.   We do not markup or profit from high shipping charges and no handling charges. International shipments are international first-class packages.  Orders received and paid by 4:00 PM Eastern time are shipped same day. Orders received after 4:00 PM Eastern time on Friday are shipped Monday or next working day.  Shipping weight per controller is 9 ounces.

Lifetime warranty:  If you ever need to return your controller for service, we pay shipping both ways and, no repair charges, EVER, our controllers are that good, and satisfied customers that important.   Our upgraded software and lifetime warranty, makes this controller a real bargain.  Buy with confidence.   Free US shipping.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR  CONTROLLER

After installing, setting up the sequence, and adjusting the timing pots, it is a good time to try out other sequences that are programed into your controller.  All sequences can be tried, but only the three relay programs on the three relay controller will show all the lights.  Setting programs for the four and six relay controller will turn on only lights switched by the first three relays.  Sequences for the four and six relay controllers will still operate, but only the lights programed for the first three relays will light providing a time lag while the program completes the cycle for the higher number relays.  Four and six relay controllers are available, send for more information on these.

You can do no harm to the controller by playing with the sequence settings or entering a switch setting which contains no program.   If an empty switch setting is set by accident nothing works, not even binky.  Controllers are shipped standard set to sequence #1.

 WIRING OPTIONS

Just because a wire is red, it does not mean it can’t be connected to a yellow or green light.  If there is a sequence you would like, but the lights are reversed, change the wiring to suit.   All of the colored wire are from the same power line so you may combine colored wires with no harm.  Do NOT combine a colored wire with the white wire, this will blow a fuse.  Combining colored wire will combine the time setting for each.  Combine a green wire with a 20 second time with a yellow wire with a 15 second time will result with a time of 35 seconds total.

 NEW SEQUENCES

New sequences cannot be entered in the field.  If you need a sequence that is not in the lineup, let us know, new sequences can only be generated and added here at the factory.  In most cases we can generate and enter your program into the lineup at no cost to you.

 VOLTAGES

Voltage questions come up quite often.  We manufacture 12 volt AC/DC, 120 volt and 240 volt controllers.  The voltage at the input will be the voltage at the output.  The transformer on the circuit board is for the electronics only and has nothing to do with the output voltage.  If your local voltage is 240 volts and your light requires 12 volts, a stepdown transformer from 240 volts to 12 volts is needed.  Our 12 volt controllers will work with 12 volts AC or DC.  Because of the large selection of outlet plugs around the world, we can’t afford to stock power cords to cover all.  For this reason we ship standard 120 volt power cords so you can provide an adaptor or cut off the plug and wire on the style for your area.

WHAT BULBS SHOULD I USE?

A number of questions come up about what bulbs to use.  Incandescent and LED both work great with this controller, florescent should NOT be used.  As to wattage, that depends on where your traffic light is to be used, indoors or out.  For outdoors 35 to 55 watt incandescent and 15 to 20 watt LED works well.  Indoors 6 to 15 watts LED or 15 to 25 watts incandescent will be quite bright.  The use of LED bulbs is by far the best type of bulb to use.  Most hardware stores have a wide wattage selection of 120 volt, medium base, screw in bulbs to choose from.  The use of LED bulbs with 17,000 hours life or more, will greatly reduce maintenance chores of changing bulbs especially when used outdoors in hard places to get to and extend the life of your controller by several years.
