Offered for your consideration is a vintage Leitz Chico Flashgun kit, made in Germany c.1954. This fan-style flash for 35mm SLR cameras, primarily Leica models I imagine, comes in its original storage box with owner’s papers. So, please see the large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this neat Leica accessory is suitable for your collection.

This Leitz flash is in clean, excellent overall condition. The aluminum fan blades actuate/connect correctly and there are no chips or cracks to the cream-colored plastic. Plus, it was stored away without a battery inside so the compartment terminals have no corrosion (operates on one “AA” battery, which is not included). Aside from a lid crack and some scratching on the clear plastic storage box, no cosmetic detractions were noted with the kit. And, based on the great shape, it’s pretty obvious this flash saw very little use.

It attaches to a camera’s accessory shoe and fires with the included synchronizing cord. I tried testing it as described in the instructions papers, but I couldn’t get it to work which I suspect is due to a bad bulb but am not sure. In any event, it may or may not work when received but is still a great display piece on your period German camera!

As pictured and described, this vintage Leitz Chico Flashgun kit is offered at a competitive price.
