I bought this bass new in 1988. I think I was inspired by MTV and the musicians that were playing them (at least the real Steinbergers) at the time - Geddy Lee, Sting, BIll Wyman, Eddie VanHalen, etc. I used to play out with it back in the day, then I used to use it for some bass parts as part of an acoustic duo since it was so small and easy to lug around.
It is in good shape. There is very slight pitting on the bridge saddles, few buckle rash scratches.

I have not had this bass set up ever. The action is high, there is a slight bow in the neck - I've tried to capture it in the pics, it is playable. Action at 12th fret is 3/16". Truss rod is good.
Comes with gig bag - the zipper doesn't work anymore, I have a bungie cord around the bottom to hold the bass in.
Nice bass overall - the active electronics work - one pot a little scratchy at one end, might need some cleaning.
