A wonderful, rare, early Art Deco period bracelet by Marius Hammer in a silver gilt scrolling wirework design with pale blue guilloche enamel panels.

Marius Hammer (1847 - 1927) was a celebrated Norwegian silversmith who, along with David Andersen and Jacob Tostrup, was a pioneer in the development of enamel jewellery, and his items are always quite wonderful and rare!

The bracelet fastens with a secure push in clasp with a safety chain. The back of the clasp is stamped with the mark of Marius Hammer - an 'M' pierced with a hammer. Also present are what's left of the worn silver mark for 930, which is a higher grade of silver than sterling.

Upon close inspection under a 10 x magnifying loupe, I can see some minor enamel loss and minor wear of the gilt to some of the high relief areas. (Please see the photos)

A very rare and collectable piece of Marius Hammer jewellery in very good antique condition.

Measures approx: 17.5cm in length x 1cm wide

Weighs: 13.4g
