This is a rare handmade in UK by C.Bertrand of North Finchley in the 1950's and a highly respected frame builder they were too.

A classic lightweight frame and forks, and it is indeed light to hold and a beautiful vintage bike frame & forks. I've had a few italian frames of the same era and this easily compares to them, and i prefer the rear part of the frame on this one to the Italian ones, it's very neatly made.

Please pay close attention to pictures to see the split in the seat tube that will require a bead of weld. i could have repaired it but thought i'd let buyer decide how to.

I just need to clear my shed and have just opted to not have a racer due to my back always hurting on my daily commute so use a dutch bike instead.

Despite the annoyance of having a split seat tube (usually the direct result of someone trying to ram in the wrong size seatpost) the frame is in otherwise very good condition for its age. The paintwork is marked but still quite tidy really, the fork crowns need a polish up but it's a nice looking frame with great lugs and lovely delicate tubing on the rear triangle and the rest of the frame is damage free.

I found a blog on the bike here:-
