A unique opportunity - not often a pair of Monitor Red 12 Chatsworths ever come up for sale- and certainly not one from famous record producer Martin Hannett's Tannoy wall of sound collection. Woodwork is pretty much excellent speaker cones are excellent. this is probably the rarest pair and most important pair of Monitor Reds in Chatsworths in the world. These as the Tannoy label on the back of the cabinet shows were a special build for Martin Hannett as he apparently sent his reds to the factory and Tannoy fitted them into Chatsworths for him.

Martin Hannett spent his short life collecting every conceivable piece of hi fi and studio equipment. In his music room at home he had numerous pairs of Tannoys and Quad Electrostatics and Auratones plus other speakers. He would bring rough mixes of bands like Joy Division home from Strawberry Studios and put the tapes on in his music room and monitor through the speakers.

These speakers belonged to the man who produced Joy Division,early New Order, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Magazine, Buzzcocks , U2  and loads more,

They sound phenomenal and vintage speakers like this climb in price each year- a great investment and a great sound
