VINTAGE HANDMADE MOROCCAN BRASS COFFEE TABLE

VINTAGE HANDMADE MOROCCAN BRASS COFFEE TABLE

This beautiful solid brass table was purchased by me in a market in the city of FEZ, Morocco in 1973.  The Moroccan artist modeled the design after the famous doors of the Royal Palace of Fez (Dar al Machzen). This is the genuine article - looking at the detailed pics, you can see that while most tables are decorated with stamping dies, the majority of this design was created with a straight chisel.

BUYER PLEASE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:

The included legs are not sized correctly; the spreaders should be longer so the legs fit under the rim (one of those projects...). Also, the leg joints were a bit loose, so I years ago I added the angle braces. The brass has developed a nice patina, but if desired it could easily be brought back to a bright shine.  The table is made of heavy gauge solid brass: 35" diameter, weight 15lb.
