Mexican silver coinage before 1960 are the most honest silver money in the world. The silver content and weight of the coin is usually stamped on the coin. (ie: Ley 900 30 Gramos). The Spanish word "LEY" means 'LAW or Legal' Much of the old Mexican silver were melted in the height of the silver run in the late 1970's, therefore the actual availability of the old Mexican silver coins are dramatically less than the published mintages. Many of these very coins were rescued from a local refiners "melt pile" during the recent highs of silver in 2011.
Old Mexican Silver coinage is definitely the best value in silver with great potential for increased collector interest due to the attrition from the melt frenzies during the silver spikes.
