Fab Colour Fabric Hand Dye: BLACK

Directions for dyeing: Cotton, Viscose, Linen & Silk:

1. Dissolve the content of the sachet in 1 litre of boiling water in a large, heavy based pan. Add another 3 litres of hot water and mix well.

2. Insert dry material in the dye bath and if required add more water to fully cover the fabric. Stirring frequently bring to boil. Simmer it for 30 minutes.

3. Add 1 tablespoon of salt for each 1 litre of the dye bath (e.g. 4 litres of water used, add 4 tablespoons of salt). Stir in the salt well together with water and the fabric. Simmer for a further 30 minutes with frequent stirring.

4. Take the pan off the hob and let it cool. Using rubber gloves carefully remove the material, wring it and hand wash it with washing powder in a separate bowl several times until the water becomes clear. Hang up to dry. 

Direction for Dyeing Nylon:

Follow instruction as above although instead of salt, please use 1 tablespoon of vinegar (culinary use) for each 1 litre of the dye bath (e.g. 4 litres of water used, add 4 tablespoons of vinegar).

Warnings: Always wash your dark colours with dark laundry.

If your material is heavier than 1.10 lb (0.5 kg) – use 2 or 3 sachets of Fabric Dye.
