This special commemorative issue World War One medallion has been minted as a collectible tribute to those who laid down their lives for us all during the terrible conflict they called "the War to end all Wars".

This large and very attractive coin weighs 29.5g (approx 1oz), measures 40mm x 3.2mm with a milled edge, is richly layered in Gold and enamelled in red, white, blue and black.

The obverse depicts a WW1 fighter plane, tank and crouching/firing British infantrymen with a Union Flag background, surrounded by the wording "The Great War 1914-1918", whilst the reverse shows a single infantryman pausing at the grave of a fallen colleague with a cross and poppies, representing and surrounded by the names of the battlefields of the Somme, Versailles, Passchendaele, Verdun, Gallipoli, Marne, Jutland, Cambrai and Ypres.

The coin is supplied in a protective transparent acrylic capsule which may be opened if required. Please note that some of the photos in this listing may show reflections such as the clouds showing on the reverse of the coin. The Gold plating on this coin is mirror like and will reflect your surroundings.

A lovely item to collect and keep or an ideal gift during this 100th anniversary period.

10% of proceeds from the sale of these items will be donated to the Victoria Cross Trust, a charity dedicated to the upkeep of the graves and memory of those British and Commonwealth servicemen who received our highest military honour and many of whom paid the ultimate price.

Lest we forget.
