Very nice twosome. The Barney Google Puppet is a treasure in itself.  Barney Google was a popular 1920's and up Comic Strip that had wide National syndication.  I bought it with the Pirate & other older puppets at an estate sale of a collector. 

See the multiple photos taken for your consideration. Both puppets are in very good condition.  There is a slight stain on black cloth on pirate.  Barney Google is really nice, but has a few stray marks on the face.  His clothing is very nice and more detailed than most early Gund puppets.  

A much simpler Barney Google sold for $74.99 recently on Ebay, but was not nearly as nice. Not sure of Pirates maker or history.  It is most likely from the 1960's as well.
