Up for sale is this beautiful, well made, vintage SHORTLAND SMITHS Barometer, made in England.  This is not your typical plastic, light-weight barometer, but is 3 ¼ lbs of hard wood, glass and brass. Not including the hanging ring on the top, the diameter of the barometer is 11".  The diameter of the glass is about 6 ¼”.  The barometer is about 2 ½” in depth.  

Overall the barometer is in excellent condition.  The glass is thick, heavy glass that is free of chips or scratches.  The wood looks beautiful with only the few indents on the right side, which I have attempted to show in the one photo.  The small amount of brass has just a little patina, which only adds to the charm of this vintage piece.

This barometer would be a great addition to any nautical theme, or an elegant den or office.
