Power of Peace, nuovo studio album dei Santana (Carlos Santana e Cindy Blackman Santana) e degli Isley Brothers (Ronald ed Ernie), sarà disponibile in CD e doppio vinile 12’’. Registrato l’anno scorso, Power of Peace rappresenta il coronamento di un sogno: una nuova collaborazione musicale con cui i Santana e gli Isley esplorano quell’intramontabile musica soul, funk, blues, rock, jazz e pop che continua a ispirarli. Con il leggendario Ronald Isley alla voce solista e Carlos Santana (principale produttore e arrangiatore dell’album) alla chitarra solista, chitarra ritmica, percussioni e cori, Power of Peace contiene brani resi celebri da Chambers Brothers (“Are You Ready”, “Love, Peace, Happiness”), Swamp Dogg (“Total Destruction to Your Mind”), Stevie Wonder (“Higher Ground”), Billie Holiday (“God Bless the Child”), Eddie Kendricks (“Body Talk”), Curtis Mayfield (“Gypsy Woman”), Muddy Waters/Willie Dixon (“I Just Want to Make Love to You”), Dionne Warwick/Jackie DeShannon (“What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love”), Marvin Gaye (“Mercy Mercy Me – The Ecology”), Leon Thomas (“Let the Rain Fall on Me”) e Sy Miller e Jill Jackson (“Let There Be Peace on Earth”). Power of Peace include anche un inedito, intitolato “I Remember”, scritto e cantato da Cindy Blackman Santana. Cindy, che suona la batteria nell’album, ha prodotto e arrangiato “Higher Ground” insieme al marito Carlos. Un disco “in famiglia”, perché Power of Peace vede la presenza di due Santana – Carlos (chitarra) e Cindy (batteria) – e quattro Isley: Ronald (voce) ed Ernie (chitarra ritmica) insieme alle rispettive compagne, Kandy Johnson Isley (moglie di Ron, corista in “God Bless the Child”, “Body Talk” e “Gypsy Woman”) e Tracy Isley (moglie di Ernie, anche lei corista in “God Bless the Child”).
