This item is a set of Van Tellingen  "Dutch Boy and Girl" "Snuggle-Hugs" salt and pepper shakers.  The first three sets of "Snuggle Hugs" salt and pepper shakers were designed  in 1947 and manufactured in 1951 after the patent was granted.  The sets were designed to fit together in a hugging fashion so that both shakers could be picked up together without a chance of dropping either one.  The first three sets were "signed" Bendel.  Many other sets, including the "Dutch Boy and Girl", were later produced and were signed Van Tellingen.  All the Van Tellingen sets were manufactured be the Regal China Co.  This set of shakers is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing.  See photos.  Thanks for viewing my item.  If you have a question let me know.
