This is what we'd call an 'ideal' tuner-spec HY35 turbochargers available- The high flow 550bhp+ 'HX35 7 blade' compressor, and the unrestrictive but fast spooling 10cm T3 turbine housing version.
For single scroll turbo setups there's really no better bang for your buck than a HY35 in out and countless others experience.

There's a huge number of tuned road and track cars in the UK already running HY35s with very impressive results, verging on incredible considering the cost, showing fantastically fast spool for the power capability of the turbo, and very high power and torque levels for the boost pressures (showing fantastic compressor and turbine efficiency), and a massive powerband from surprisingly low rpm right to the rev limiter.
HY35s have beem the 'must have' turbo for 2.5ltr engines such as the RB25 and 1JZ for some time, purely as they spool so fast with massive low down torque, but also capable of over 500bhp (over 600 when pushed on the right engine), making the perfect combo for road, track, and especially drift cars.

Examples (Note- These turbos are generally most efficient at 2bar+++ boost, depending on engine size)-
  • 2.5ltr Toyota 1JZ engine with standard internals and pump fuel- 515bhp and 505lb/ft torque (at just 3200rpm!) at 1.5bar boost, 405bhp at just 1bar boost, full boost by 3000rpm, pulls strongly to 7000rpm+.
  • 2.5ltr Toyota 1JZ, fully built- 609bhp at flywheel.
  • 2.6ltr RB26 Nissan Skyline GT-R engine, stock internals, pump fuel- 1.6bar boost by 3300rpm.
  • 2.5ltr Toyota 1JZ with standard internals, pump fuel, and piggyback eManage ECU- 450bhp and 430lbft at 1.3bar.
  • 2ltr Mitsubishi 4G63 engine with standard internals, 550bhp+ (492bhp@Wheels) at 32psi, (440bhp@wheels at 28psi).
  • 2ltr Mitsubihsi 4G63 engine with unknown internals and E85 fuel- 604bhp@35psi boost.
  • 2ltr Nissan SR20 engine with standard internals and pump fuel- 350bhp and 340lb/ft torque at just 1bar boost, full boost by 3700rpm, no power loss even at 7500rpm. 
  • 2ltr Nissan SR20, unknown spec- 450bhp and 420lb/ft at 1.5bar boost.
  • 2ltr Nissan SR20 engine with flowed head and cams- No dyno figures yet, but 1.5bar boost at 3500rpm.
  • 1.8ltr 20V VW engine, forged internals- 449bhp in 95octane fuel.
  • 2.5ltr Nissan RB25 engine with standard internals- 400bhp at just 0.9bar boost, full boost at 3200rpm- Spools faster and more power than the HKS/Garrett GT30 BB turbo that previously was fitted (and failed).
  • 2ltr Nissan RB20 engine with forged standard compression pistons, standard head and cams, and pump fuel- 470bhp and 400lb/ft at 1.5bar boost, full boost by 3800rpm, no noticable power loss even at 8000rpm, and even more low down power than the small Garrett GT2871 previously fitted. Full boost at high rpm was possible even at 50% throttle- Almost unheard of on a 2ltr engine with a turbo of this size. Tuner said that 500-550bhp was highly likely at 2bar+ but the standard ignition coils couldn't cope over 1.5bar boost.
  • 2.8ltr Saab V6, standard internals, 485bhp@wheels (500+ at flywheel).

Incredibly responsive, powerful, and reliable, and many examples of them spooling up faster than a Garrett GT30R but producing far more torque and top end power too.

  • Huge alloy compressor housing with 4in MWE Map Width Enhancement (Ported shroud) anti-surge compressor inlet and 2in v-band outlet.
  • 82mm high flow Holset 'HX35' 7 blade compressor wheel with 54mm inducer.
  • 10cm2 turbine housing giving the perfect mix of quick spool and high flow, with 4bolt T3 inlet flange and 2.5in V-band turbine outlet.
  • Integral wastegate with actuator (We personally recommend using an external wastegate).
  • 12 blade 58mm exducer (65mm inducer) high flow turbine wheel.
  • Heavy duty oil cooled center core with 360degree thrust bearing.
  • Great looking and sounding (very loud turbo spoolup- Jet engine style)
