Subvert was born In October 2000, we decided to create the kind of shop that we would like to buy our gear from. We started out in a small shop on Burton Road, in the Manchester suburb of West Didsbury, three years later we branched out and opened a store in Xscape, Castleford's indoor snowdome. As we grew and made friends, it became apparent that we needed a larger base on our home turf, and it wasn't long before the perfect oppourtunity arose, a shop on Oldham Street in Manchester's trendy Northern Quarter, so we went for it.Around the same time, we made the decision to increase the size of our Xscape store. We were offered the possibility of taking over the running of Xscape's skatepark and we were delighted to accept. Today, "The Park", as it's simply known, is run as a not-for-profit skatepark, offering lessons to schoolkids from the local area, as well as being open for recreational use. After a couple of years of providing great service on Oldham Street, news reached us that at long last, indoor, year-round snow was coming to Manchester. From the off, we knew we had to be there. Our Manchester activities were relocated (with much nostalgia and emotion) from Oldham Street and Burton Road to a shiny new store at Chillfactore, where we can be found today. If you have any questions about this listing or any other item, please call us on 01617476066!
