Treats - Iron, a big source of problems in water supplies, causing red discolored water, red or reddish-brown staining and sometimes giving the water a metallic taste. Hydrogen Sulfide, commonly refereed to as sulfur, easily recognized by the rotten egg smell it gives the water. Manganese, usually identifiable by black, slimy staining and the smell of rotting vegetation.

Filox* - is a naturally mined ore that oxidizes the iron, sulfur, and manganese, allowing it to be trapped by the dense media bed. The density of the Filox media also allows it to work well as a general sediment and turbidity filter.

Vortech Tank - utilizes a more efficient distributor plate design to reduce backwash and improve system efficiency compared to traditional cone & gravel systems. This unique design provides greater "lift" and "action" throughout the entire width of the mineral tank during a backwash cycle, providing more movement and better cleaning than the traditional systems.

Complete System - Complete system includes Vortech tank with riser, control head, media, and bypass valve. System is shipped in separate boxes to save on shipping costs and make placing the system easier. Bypass Valve - The included bypass valve allows for easy connection of the system and provides a quick and easy means to bypass the system and disconnect the system without needing to cut your plumbing. Comes with 1" PVC connection stubs, 1.25" is available on request.

Filox Media - This system uses Filox* media to oxidize and trap the iron, hydrogen sulfide, and manganese. As with any iron filter, pH is a key factor to successful treatment, a pH of 6.3 OR MORE is required for effective treatment. Due to the density of the Filox* media, please ensure you have adequate flow rates for proper backwashing.

Flow Rates - This system is capable of treating 6-9 gallons per minute and requires 6.3 gallons per minute for backwashing. More information on flow rates can be found on the right side of the page.

DIY Installation - We provide detailed installation instructions that allow most homeowners to install this system themselves. All it takes is some basic plumbing skills and some common knowledge! If you don't feel confident installing it yourself most plumbers can install it in about 1-2 hours.
