-Rolls up for compact transport, but when rolled out, inner foam baffles expand some and "automatically" fill with air to provide additional thickness and thermal barrier.  Because these are military surplus - used, the foam may not have the brand new elasticity that fills with as much air as when new, but they still will work and provide foam padded comfort off the cold ground.  

- -USED - Very Good Condition. Battle tested military surplus.  Used, so not brand new, but still functional.
