This is a very old flying bicycle machine, built in 1920's 1930's, which I bought a couple of years ago from an European Antique Market in the UK. It was brought over by a French Antique dealer.

It was stored in an attic in Brest, Brittany, France, but I have never tried to find out who the inventor was, as don't know where to start, and I really don't have the time!

I was going to get it restored, but I never got the time.

The sails look like they are made from cotton, canvas type fabric, and are hand stitched together in pieces.

It has wires running through the wings, which controlled the wing flaps, but some of these wires are missing.

The centre mechanism piece is very heavy, and made from steel/Alu I think.

The bike its self, has several sprocket mechanisms attached to it. The handle bars move forward and backwards, which I guess would have been used to make the bike fly up and down.

There is a very small wooden seat.

It is of course, not in working order, and needs to be restored carefully.

All the main parts are there and complete, apart from the wires and maybe some sort of chain that would of gone around the sprockets.

The size of the wing span is 360cm Wide x 200cm High.

It obviously has had some long hours gone into the designing and making it, especially by hand.

For its age, it is in very good condition, and could be brought back to life easily.

It is very difficult to find information on these type of inventions, as they seem to be so old. It needs a correct valuation from an expert, but should probably should be in a Museum somewhere.
