Troentorp Bastad | Swedish Clogs | Since 1907Troentorp (tro-in-torp) is a village located outside the coastal city of Båstad, Sweden. For over 100 years, Troentorp has been the home of the original Swedish clog. In 1907, a skilled apprentice cobbler named August Johansson started the Troentorp Clog Factory using revolutionary techniques to craft comfortable clogs. By the 1970s, Troentorp Clogs achieved worldwide recognition, reaching over 15 different countries.
Today, Troentorp still provides the world with the finest handmade Swedish clogs. The anatomically contoured footbeds are made with the finest alder wood, providing ultimate arch support and comfort. Each clog is hand-nailed with craftsmanship that has been passed down for generations.
- Comfort-The heart of our clog is the orthopedically carved footbed. Alder wood is used because it is light, has good moisture absorbing qualities, and above all maintains its shape and form.
- Hand-nailed-Troentorp clogs are hand-nailed; not stapled. This is the authentic way to make clogs.
- Handcrafted-Each clog is made by hand, making each pair special. The craftsman use skills that have been passed down for generations.
- Safety- All of our clogs feature a certified slip resistant polyurethane outsole- ASTM 1677 Mark II Certified. Our famous steel toe Picasso is impact compression certified ASTM F 2412-05.
- Wet Lasted leather means they are pre-stretched, mold to your feet and keep their comfort and shape.
- Sustainability- Troentorp Clogs are a natural product—made with renewable and recycled materials, ethical and fair Swedish labor, and commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.
