~ Givejoy Toys Skybirds 1/72nd Scale Aircraft No.7B Model Messerschmitt Me.109F Made 1935-42 ~
The model was constructed from a Givejoy Toys 1/72nd scale aircraft kit, part of the Skybirds series, the kit was issued between 1935 and 1945.
The hand constructed and painted model was constructed by the original vendor as a boy (between July 1935 & January 1942).
The wooden model is extremely detailed.
The set is complete with the original instructions and plan.
Quite an amazing example of early model making.
~ Messerschmitt Bf 109 ~
The Messerschmitt Bf 109, often called Me 109 (most often by Allied pilots and aircrew), was a German World War II fighter aircraft designed by Willy Messerschmitt and Robert Lusser during the early to mid-1930s. It was one of the first truly modern fighters of the era, including such features as all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, a retractable landing gear, and was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine.
