The plume is embossed and decorated with a winged dragon decoration on either side and is attached with screws .
To the front is the acronym RFB for the Reading Fire Brigade.
The helmet is complete with the original leather lining.
The link chin strap is leather backed and is attached via rosette shaped bosses.
The helmet came from ‘The Hallam Collection of Fire Brigade Memorabilia’. It is not stamped.

The helmet is 10 inches (25.5 cm) tall. The depth of the helmet is 12 inches (30.5 cm) and has a width of 8 inches (20.3 cm). It weighs 1.05 kg.
~ Condition ~
The helmet has traces of metal polish in the recesses.
The skull has minor dents and dings, the comb much more so.
The chin guard is partially unstitched and the leather worn.
The inner lining his worn but complete without tears.
All parts are original.
