Condition: overall in good condition; near very good for its age; cover soiling, chipping and edge-wear of the vellum covers, with a significant chip from the front cover, as well as chips broken off of the front-top corners of both front and back covers; covers are somewhat stiffened and front cover does not close completely; slight cracking along top hinge; stamp on front free-endpaper from the convent Franciscains de l'Observance in Roubaix, France; old hand-written notation at the bottom of the title page; title page is slightly soiled, and is also trimmed along the top edge and chipped along its fore-edge (not affecting text or engraving); very light dampstaining of a few pages; soiling and wear from handling shown on page edges; all of the book otherwise unblemished and, other than these few damages, an outstanding Catholic relic from the late-Renaissance.
