DESCRIPTION
This exquisite rare antique Russian brass samovar, bowl and under tray are from the late 19th century. Original condition and signed three times, on tray, top part of Samovar and bottom. I believe the collectors will recognize the makers
The lid, crown and cover are removable. A special cavity for fuel is located in the center body of the samovar, called a jug. Charcoal or wood chips are inserted into the jug and ignited and at the bottom it has a trap door for clean and removal of ashes. The body of the samovar (called the tulovo) is where water is poured for boiling. Two issues that we want to bring to your attention. One of the screws on the top lid is missing the female Picture # 18 (easy fix) and the bottom refuse trap door soldered hinge section gave way but when latch shut it is functional meaning does not fall down, picture #22. This is also an easy fix with solder or crazy glue but really I would leave it alone.
This beautiful samovar is 26" tall.
