Description: Allan Douglas Davidson (British, 1873 - 1932)- Oil on board painting depicting an intimate scene of a nude red headed female figure from the backside. The woman in the painting appears to be holding onto a long dress or blanket.  Signed "Allan Davidson" to the lower left hand corner. Comes in a black painted wood frame with a gilt interior rim. Weight Approx., 1.5lbs.


Allan Douglas Davidson was born in London in 1873 and was the son of historical painter, Thomas Davidson. He studied art at the Royal Academy Schools in London and the Academie Julian in Paris. He specialized in oil works and female nudes as he showcased exhibitions around London and painted for Queen Mary's Doll House. Davidson retired in Walberswick, Suffolk and died in 1932.

Condition: Very Good Condition. Slight loss of black paint to the edges of the wood frame.
