Handsome fold-out 1951 Phillips 66 road map of Chicago and vicinity, printed more than 65 years ago.

This map opens to 24" x 18" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, including U.S. Route 66, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.

The coverage area extends from the Wisconsin border to Gary, Indiana, including Joliet, Evanston, Elgin, and Aurora. On the reverse side there is an inset plan of downtown Chicago.

This map was distributed to motorists by the Phillips Petroleum Company of Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1951 and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 8-Y.

Condition: This map is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears.
