Hello folks, up for auction today is a super mint factory original Delco GM digital ETR AM/FM stereo radio with 5-band equalizer, auto-reverse cassette tape player, and clock that was taken out of a 1984 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in the late 1980's. Please note that 1984 was the first model year GM offered a Delco GM factory stereo that was combined with a 5 band equalizer. Also note the digital LED display color being an amber yellow color, which is factory correct for only the 1984 Chevrolet Camaro, Sport Coupe, & Z28. This version of this same radio model was also available as an option from 1985 through the 1988 model years, however those models used a vacuum florescent light green digital display instead. Most of these factory original AM/FM cassette EQ stereos that you will find today are the 1985 and newer light green digital display type, which makes this one year only radio very rare and hard to find that has the amber digital LED display combined with the 5-band equalizer and cassette tape player together. I have inserted a picture of the 1984 Chevrolet Camaro brochure illustrating this same radio as an optional radio, as well as a 1984 Camaro Z28 that was listed here on eBay recently. This was also the top of the line, highest end option you could order for a factory radio for the 1984 model year as well. If you are restoring your classic 1980's Chevrolet F-Body muscle car to a 100 point show car with exceptional details, exact originality, and show quality, then this radio is just what you are looking for. This radio was GM RPO option code UU6 or YE2, and was a very expensive $605.00 upgrade stereo system option for only the 1984 Chevrolet Camaro, Sport Coupe, & Z28, however this radio will also fit and work 100% perfectly into the 1985-1988 Chevrolet Camaro, Sport Coupe, Z28, & IROC-Z as well. This radio will also fit and work perfectly into many other GM cars and trucks throughout the 1980's as well.

This radio is in super mint, 100% working condition. The radio was cleaned inside and out, adjusted and lubed. I have tested the radio and it works very well by picking up many stations on both the FM & AM frequencies. When the stereo receives a FM stereo broadcast, the "ST" LED lights up brightly in a amber yellow color. The pushbuttons also work very well and push in very easily, and for storing and recalling the set stations. The stereo also has the SEEK/SCAN features built in. The SEEK feature allows the radio to pick the next best received station without turning the knob. The SCAN feature will do it automatically, staying on each station for five seconds before moving to the next. A round dot LED will light up for whenever the stereo is in SCAN mode. The LED digital readout is in excellent working condition, with no parts of the characters of the numerals are burned out or dull, and have a very nice amber yellow color to them. The stereo is also equipped with a digital clock that displays when the key is turned on and when the radio is off, or after five seconds after tuning in a station. I had the clock hooked up for a couple of hours, and it kept perfect time.

The cassette tape player also works perfectly. I tested three cassette tapes and they all played extremely well. The tapes play very clear with no sound distortions or garble. The capstans and head were cleaned, and the speed of the tape was correctly adjusted. The fast forward and reverse switches also works very well, with a quick and quiet motion. There is a brand new rubber belt that was just installed to give you years of future usage. The tape inserts and ejects nicely. The auto reverse feature also works correctly, with pushing in the top knob automatically plays the other side of the tape; the tape will also switch sides automatically when it is finished playing on one side. The correct tape LED light comes on for whichever direction the cassette tape is playing.

The 5-band equalizer also work 100% correctly. All 5 bands slide easily with no outside noise or distortion, and has strong sound throughout. This allows you to fine tune the sound to your satisfaction. The loudness controls also works perfectly and gives the radio an extra boost in sound when used with the 5-band equalizer. The two original illumination light bulbs are still working perfectly, and light up the faceplate in a light green color. Simply click the picture of the radio being illuminated in the dark to view for yourself. This stereo will work with any two, three, or four speaker system, and will also work with a power antenna if so equipped.

Cosmetically the stereo is in near perfect condition, as it looks close to brand new and can be easily installed into a show or museum car. All of the black buttons have an excellent dark color with no chips, marks, or scratches. The face is also in near perfect condition as it has a very nice black matte finish with no heavy scratches or fading. The LED lens cover is clear with no scratches or marks. All of the font is crisp and clear and looks great. The tape door is also in super mint condition with no scratches or wear. The original decal tags are still attached to both sides of the radio chassis and look perfect. The factory GM part # for this radio is 16028452, which was later superseded to GM part # 16051921. The factory grease pen markings are also clearly visible on the top of the radio chassis. The correct original all black knobs are included and are also in near perfect condition. For an additional $15, I will also include the correct electrical harness plugs that connect to the back of the radio; however the winning bidder must contact me when the auction ends as it is available at your request.
