As those of you familiar with Leatherman know, production of the tools was "out-sourced" in part to a facility in Japan in the late 1980's in order to meet increased demand for the product.

The Japanese-made tools have some slight differences from their USA-made counterparts that I won't list here - that information is readily available on the internet.  In any event, those differences have made this item quite collectible and sought after.  I particularly like the fact that the ruler on the back edge is ONLY the Imperial (i.e. inches) scale;  NOT metric!

This one is pre-owned/used but is in pretty good shape for its age.  There are normal scuffs and scratches but they are strictly "cosmetic".  All tools are in decent condition as the photos should indicate.

Great condition, blade has been sharpened and the smaller blade next to the large blade has a knick in it. Other than that, its pretty original. It is still tight to open and shut, not because of use, but because of un-use!

Ask any questions prior to buying, thank you.
