Antique christening gown - part of a large collection of antique baby and infant dresses, gowns, bonnets, bibs and clothes for sale on eBay.
This exquisite Victorian / Edwardian christening dress dates from late Victorian times at the turn of the last century.
- semi - sheer cotton lawn
- embroidery to hem bodice cuffs neck
- lace to hem, neck and cuffs
- square panel of broiderie anglaise on bodice
- long sash for fastening the waist- small orange mark
- original drawstring at neck
- pintucks on the sleeves & hem
- gathered skirt
This antique dress is in remarkable condition and is nice and long with a generous hem and beautiful embroidery. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find antique christening gowns, vintage baby clothes, vintage children's clothes and antique dresses in good wearable condition. This is a lovely example and can be treasured for years to come as an antique family heirloom piece.
