Launched in 1994, the Dynax 500si is an excellent 35mm film autofocus SLR camera from Minolta.

It's very simple to use, with fully automatic (program) exposure, plus five special subject-based modes; portraits, landscapes, close-ups, sports and night scenes. Plus you have the option of shutter priority auto (ideal for action), aperture priority auto (choose an aperture for depth of field) or metered manual for ultimate control. There's a P (Panic!) button which instantly resets everything to fully auto at any time. Multi-segment metering system, plus the option of spot metering for accurate exposures. You can set exposure compensation of up to +/- 3 stops to correct for difficult lighting conditions. Film speeds are set automatically with DX coded films, from ISO 25 to 5000, with manual override from ISO 6 to 6400.

Automatic or manual focusing, with auto focus lock for off-centre subjects, and continuous AF for moving ones. Correct focus indicator in manual mode. Motor driven film loading, wind-on (single or continuous modes) and rewind, plus self timer. Multiple exposure mode included for special effects.

Power is supplied by a standard 2CR5 Lithium battery (included). The viewfinder has a very comprehensive LCD information display, including shutter speeds, apertures, exposure compensation and correct manual exposure indicators, camera shake warning, in-focus and flash ready symbols. The top plate has a large LCD with exposure, mode and status information.

The camera is fully working and has been tested with film prior to listing. The camera is supplied with a Tamron AF Zoom 28-80mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens with cap, along with a camera neck strap.

A perfect student camera, or someone new to 35mm film photography.
