SUPERB EARLY BIEDERMEIER VIENNA REGULATOR WALL CLOCK - Dwarf size

This is a very fine and early Biedermeier period Vienna regulator of smaller size and in beautiful original condition .
The clock is signed by the maker Berger in Wein who I believe is either Joseph or Wenzel Berger both of who were master clock makers in Vienna when this clock was made which was circa 1830 which is very early for this type of clock
Austrian clocks such as this are entirely hand made and finished by time served master clockmaker's and should not be confused with the much cheaper mass produced German clocks.

Austrian clocks were only made for the most discerning customers (who could afford them) and took many months to complete individually.

Subsequently they are rare items and I have spent almost 30 years driving all over Europe to source these clocks, particularly the finer examples with originality being a paramount requirement. As the years go by such clocks are proving very difficult to locate.
Unfortunately there are too many people selling modern reproductions to customers.

I offer a full money back guarantee as to the authenticity of my Vienna clocks.I also welcome any expert appraisal whatsoever.

Obviously, any potential clients are very welcome to view the clock prior to purchase (or pay on delivery)to ensure that they are satisfied with their purchase

As you can see from the photographs this is a beautiful clock and in the most outstanding original condition.Choice mahogany veneers have been used and the grain and figuring on the backboard is very nice indeed.
The cresting is original and the case is constructed in the early six glass style . There are rebates inside the trunk so that the door closes tightly and the ingress of dust is prevented- a sign of true quality.
The overall proportions are excellent
The clock is in excellent condition and the original finish and patina have been retained. The overall condition is excellent and will delight the most discerning buyer.

The hand made 8 day movement is beautifully made .It has a weight driven dead beat escapement .It has been fully restored by a professional horologist and with be in perfect working order.
The 6 inch one piece porcelain dial is in perfect order save a repaired chip around the winding hole.It has a beautiful cast brass pie crust bezel.
The original brass backed pendulum bob is in perfect condition as is the steel pendulum bob.

The original winding crank is present.

Hopefully the images will show show interested parties all they need to see.

This clock is much nicer in the flesh and looks very impressive on the wall.Prospective buyers are encouraged to view this clock if at at possible

It is 38 inches in length (from the very bottom of the finial to the top of the cresting) .The trunk is only 8 inches wide. The maximum depth is 4 1/4 inches.

If the buy it now price is paid in full then I will deliver and set up the clock free of charge to the English mainland,Wales and the Scottish lowlands.I will also provide a 12 months guarantee under these circumstances. This is the same service that is provided by a high street retailer without the customer having to pay for the overheads

Ebay now charge 10% on shipping plus Pay Pal fees. These charges will be added to the shipping costs. All goods will be shipped within five days of payment. Collection is available by prior arrangement All goods paid using Pay pal will only be shipped to the pay pal confirmed address All goods will be shipped by courier ie UPS,DHL,Fed Ex or similar and will be tracked and signed for.I will not ship unless it is tracked and signed for. If you wish to use your own courier I will do all I can to assist. I only charge actual costs incurred for shipping BUT I will use a large box with plenty of packing to avoid damage and this will make shipping (particulary to foreign countries) a little more expensive due to volumetric weight. Custom made boxes, bubble wrap and peanuts all cost money and the cost of these materials will be added to the cost of shipping. For example a Vienna wall clock costs me £15 in materials.I do not charge for my time for packing. Every care will be taken when packing but no liability will be accepted for damage by the couriers and it must be remembered that it is virtually impossible to guarrantee 100 percent that a peice of glass may not be damaged on the odd occasion. Insurance is a difficult and expensive area with respect to antiques and usually has a low ceiling that is why I use recognised tracked and signed for couriers and do not insure seperately. If you wish to seperately insure your item I will do all I can to assist but the responsibility to arrange the said insurance is with the buyer
