This cultivar produces very large figs that are almost black when ripe with a very sweet juicy purple pink flesh. Can be allowed to grow into a large tree and although very architectural and tropical looking it will reduce crop growth.
For best crop production grow splayed against a warm south facing wall.
Full sun to part shade in most soils with good drainage.
Sent as young plant in a 9cm pot.
Please
read our terms and conditions below. By purchasing you are agreeing to them.
Dispatch and Postage. Plants are typically dispatched
within 3 to 5 Working days but may be longer if we are between batches. That is
dispatch time only and excludes postage/transit time. This is all covered by
clicking the *see details* part of the postage section on the items listing.
Ebay will give you an estimated delivery date that usually exceeds the actual
delivery time. Please do not order plants before going on holiday/ away if the
eBay estimated delivery date falls during your holiday/ away period.
We state *other courier* in the postage section. This is due to the fact
that we send items via several different couriers as well as Royal Mail. Who we
send by will depend entirely on the size and weight of your parcel and the area
it is being sent to.
We can only ship plants within the UK and EU. UK postage is included in
the price. EU postage is a one off charge of £25.00 and sent by tracked
courier. EU customers please add your items to the eBay shopping basket and
then click the request total from seller tab so we can adjust the postage. If
you do not you will get charged £25.00 postage for each item.
If plants have arrived in poor condition through transit delays or
miss-handling we ask you to follow the enclosed potting on/ planting out
instructions and allow two weeks for the plants to start to recover, if they do
not start to recover and show signs of fresh new growth within that time then
please email us with a photo and we will happily send replacements. Obviously
dormant plants will not recover until their growing season arrives so we are
happy to guarantee regrowth on them for longer.
Contacting us. If you have a question relating to your eBay order
or an item listed on eBay please contact us via the eBay messenger service so
the item details come up. Please do not contact us via our email or website
address.
We will no longer reply to messages that have the answer already
answered in the description or chasing orders before the stated delivery date
is up.
Collections and Visits. The nursery is not a retail nursery so
sorry but we do not allow collections or visits under any circumstances. We
would like to open the nursery for visits as it would greatly increase turnover
but the terms of our lease prohibit us from doing so.
The Plants Themselves. We are a commercial grower, Hot
Plant Company is just the online retail side to the nursery but the main part
of the business is growing plants for other nurseries, garden centres and
online retailers. They are commercial quality, they are not gift/ present
quality. Gift quality plants can be found on other sites that specialise in
selling gift quality plants in fancy pots and baskets with bespoke funny cards
and the such like at a premium price. They can also be found by
visiting a local garden centre.
We propagate and grow a large range of rare and unusual plants as well
as some more common varieties and we do sell plants out of season. We are not
like a garden centre where they only put out plants that are looking good and
in season. This means that if you order a Summer dormant plant in Summer then
it will be dormant and just look like a pot of compost. If you order a
deciduous tree in late Summer to late Autumn the leaves may be going yellow,
red, orange or gold, getting tatty and dropping of. If you order a deciduous
tree in Winter it will turn up looking like a dead stick. Most of this is
common sense but feel free to message us to ask if the plants are looking good
at the time of ordering.
Due to the high turnover of a commercial nursery we do not show photos
of the actual plants for sale as sizes and quality can literally vary from day
to day, week to week. The photos on the eBay description usually show mature
plants and how your plants will turn out. We will happily take photos of the
actual plants on request if time allows. Most plants are well rooted in their
9cm pots but this we will not guarantee. On the rare occasion they may only
have been recently potted on from their plug trays.
Some plants may arrive as bare stems or with little leaf, this usually
occurs during the Winter as the plants are dormant but it can happen during the
growing season as we regularly have to hard prune through the season. If we do
not the plants just get tall and leggy as they are grown in close proximity to
each other. From time to time we have to cut back to encourage new bushier
growth at the base. This usually only takes a week or two and new growth is
generally vigorous.
On rare occasions, we may run out between batches of stock on some
plants and we will inform you and refund as soon as we notice. This may not be
until we go to pack your order which can be up to 5 + days after you place your
order.
The plants on eBay include the price of posting. eBay call if FREE
POSTAGE but as we all know there is no such thing, the postage cost is just
worked into the price of the item. Please remember this when leaving feedback
especially if you feel the plant is too small for the price paid. For example,
a £5.99 plant is not a £5.99 plant. It costs £2.90 to post one plant, there is
also 10% eBay fees to come off the price, 3.4% PayPal fees, cost of the box 14p
and the cost to pay someone to pack it. So that plant you have paid £5.99 for
only actually cost you approx. £1.99. You have paid for a service as well as
the item.
