Please note this is an official hikvision UK product - not Chinese / grey market - you can upgrade firmware at any time as long as you download it from the hikvision website. This is a Hikvision 4 Megapixel High Definition IP CCTV Camera - that's Twice the resolution of 1080P HD!! - compatible with Hikvision IP CCTV recorders ONLY. Please be aware IP cameras will not work with older Analogue / SD CCTV Recorders, if you are in doubt, please contact us before you order to check compatibility. The Hikvision DS-2CD2142FWD-I is a 4 megapixel (2688 × 1520) IK10 rated vandal resistant Dome camera with 120dB Wide Dynamic Range. The camera has built in IR with a range of up to 30m and is housed in an IP66 rated housing. Some of the great features this camera includes are dual streaming, day/night function and wide dynamic range. The camera can be powered over ethernet (PoE) for quick and easy installation when used with the plug and play features of our Hikvision NVRs. Indoor or Outdoor?You may have noticed these cameras are IP66 weather rated, yet we also call them "indoor" cameras - this is mainly due to night vision issues when the cameras are not installed correctly. You must take lots of care when installing these cameras outdoors, be sure not to let the glass of the dome touch any rough surface like a wall - this will cause minute scratches (invisible to the human eye) which cause IR bounce back issues. The camera has 3 axis movement, meaning they are built to be ceiling or wall mounted - and you can manually adjust the lens to point in almost any direction. Unlike many cameras - these have a built in IR Cut Filter, this means the cameras provide true colour images during the day with no colour distortion caused by IR light - and then at night the IR filter moves and the IR LED's turn on - allowing the camera to have perfect night vision. This feature is usually only available on very high end (and high priced) cameras. Please be aware this listing does not include a Power Supply or any additional CCTV Cable.
