         BMW Light Weight Chrome-Molly Flywheel

This Flywheel is direct bolt on fitment to all m50 m52 m54 m3 bmw engines (does not fit 6 speed) Will also fit m20 with m4/5x starter- direct bolt on

Made from a single billet of High Tensile Chrome-molly steel using advanced gear cutting technology to cut the ring gear teeth under the clutch mounting flange! The result is a  flywheel that is both light and very strong. Guaranteed for life!

Weighing only 3.8Kg (8.5Lb) it will greatly increase the response and acceleration of any vehicle. Clutch weight is still a significant addition so there is no possibility of being "too light".

Clutch fitment is big 240mm from BMW M30/S38 Engines there are 3 grades of OEM clutch available, all have a fully sprung center specifically designed for use with a single mass flywheel. The result is a nice smooth OEM feel while still delivering an extremely large torque capacity! Perfect for drift turbo or race applications

All have a standard 10 spline center but the plate can be swapped with other 240mm clutches if a different spline is required, ZF etc

p/n  21219069010   This is the early model M30 clutch, usually the most common and lowest cost, great for everyday use, still incredibly strong and reliable clutch that is stronger than almost all other m20/50/52 clutches etc, good for mild to moderate forced induction and moderate track use.

p/n  21219069012   This is the later model M30 clutch for bigger and heavier cars, it has a stronger center and plate springs, great for heavy track use and moderate to high forced induction, drifting etc.

Myth Buster!.......

It is a common perception that a large flywheel is used to increase the torque of and engine and with a light flywheel an engine will have less torque but this is NOT the case! Heavy flywheels are used only to ease the smooth engagement of the clutch so Grandma can take off without stalling the engine and thats it! Once the car is rolling and the clutch is fully engaged the flywheel becomes completely unnecessary because the entire vehicle and its drive line becomes the flywheel storing huge amounts of momentum. Any additional weight particularly on the crank shaft only reduces the vehicles ability to accelerate briskly. So if you are sensible with your clutch selection then you will enjoy all the benefits of having a responsive engine with much improved acceleration.
