An American Waltham USA Traveller Gold Plated Hunter Pocket Watch

It has white enamel dial, with roman numerals, minute track, subsidiary seconds dial.

The serial number is 12332972. It is a size 16, 7 jewels.

The case is of a thick 10ct gold plate.

On one side it is engraved with a large monogram which looks like JG.

It has a large crown at the top, which would wind the mechanism up. To wind, it feels stiff, but nevertheless it does work. The watch runs smoothly and keeps good time, the subsidiary seconds hand moving nicely. However, when moved, the movement does stop occasionally. For example, I had it laid down for 15 hours and it never stopped and kept perfect time. I then turned it around and the mechanism stopped, a quick shake got it going again. So it does work but it is slightly temperamental,  and therefore it would benefit from a good service. You can change the time using the crown, this works fine.

The watch measures 50mm in diameter.

CONDITION:

The condition is good for a watch of such age. Contains glass bezel which is good with no scratches. The enamel dial is good too. The rest of the dial is excellent, with no loss of colour to any of the minute track or roman numerals. The hands seem to be in good condition. The case is good, with no dings or dints but it does have some scratches. All the hinges are very tight and solid, and they seal perfectly.
