The Xiaomi Redmi 3S/3S Pro features bumped 2GB/3GB RAM and storage. Redmi 3S and 3S Pro both packs a fingerprint sensor which was missing on the original Redmi 3. The rest of the features and specifications of the Redmi 3S/3S Pro are similar to the Redmi 3/3Pro.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S/3S Pro Prime features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display and packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, with four cores clocked at 1.4GHz, and four cores at 1.1GHz. The handset includes 2GB/3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, Adreno 505 GPU, as well as 16GB/32GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).
Much like the Redmi 3/3Pro, the Redmi 3S/3S Pro also packs a 4100mAh non-removable battery, a highlight of the device. Different with Redmi 3/3 Pro, the Redmi 3S/3S pro support QC3.0 quick charge.
On the camera , the Redmi 3S/3S Pro sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/ 2.0 aperture, PDAF autofocus, and also supports 1080p full-HD video recording. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera as well which also supports full-HD recording. The dual-SIM Redmi 3S/3S Pro comes with hybrid SIM slot that support one Micro-SIM and other Nano-SIM alongside microSD card.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S/3S Pro runs on MIUI 7, which utilizes an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop core. MIUI 7 brings its take at the interface and improves on its performance. According to Xiaomi's change log, MIUI 7 is 30% faster and more responsive and 10% more energy efficient. It also adds a few new things as a baby album, child mode, new default themes and auto DND option.
