For sale is a KODAK ANASTIGMAT LENS 50MM F/1.6 S-MOUNT 1949 . Lens optics are crystal clear , no scratches , haze , or fungus . Focus and aperture works properly . This is a very clean example of this lens .anastigmat' (literally "no astigmatism") was Kodak's name for most of its top line of lenses made in the 1920s and 1930s. The name for Kodak's premier lenses changed to 'Ektar" around 1936.  "S" type Anastigmat was a high-end 16mm Cine lens most likely made between 1936-48. The Kodak Type S mount was Kodak's universal cine lens mount, adaptable to nearly all of Kodak's interchangeable lens cine cameras


The kodak anastigmat is based on the famous petzval design. The petzval lenses Designed before 1850, it was an amazingly important lens and the mainstay of portrait photographers for half a century. As the petzval lenses the it has the amazing centre sharpness and the magical swirly bokeh on the back ground.
