HAND CRAFTED IN THE USA

A knife that's a joy to behold.  Thanks to the smoothing work on the scale, the knife is extremely comfortable to wield, and snag-free as an added plus.  The beautifully sculpted handle is precision bonded to Warren's satin finished Ti-ZAr alloy.  The ergonomics are perfect for a mid-size knife of this style.  This one is a complete one-off and a looker at that.  The sculpted handle gives the G-10 a natural almost wood grain that really adds to the look of the knife.  This one is begging to be carried, but I wouldn't blame you if you just want to keep it in the safe and pull it out to play with once in awhile.  Pictures really don't do this one justice.

What is a custom knife?  Many so-called "custom knives" are no more than CNC machined pieces created in AutoCAD or other similar 3D modelling programs.  Their designers may assemble the pieces or have shop assistants do it for them.  Many high end "custom" knives may not even touch the maker's hand before being shipped out.  Warren Thomas starts each and every knife as pieces of raw material, machines them to exacting tolerances, then grinds and finishes them. Although Warren is famous for his collaborations with makers such as Spyderco and Beretta, he prefers to do his own thing and has never been happy with the production versions of his blades.  He'd much rather experiment and push the edge of knife technology, as he's done for over 25 years.  His style has been emulated by knife makers across the world.  Each piece is an extension of the maker - a lost art in this day and age of automated machinery. If some of these so-called "custom" knives are truly "custom" - why is it that you can buy replacement scales for them?  Are there custom makers out there so exact that every piece they make by hand is identical?  The answer is undoubtedly no.  When you buy a Warren Thomas knife, you're buying an entirely handmade creation - no two knives are exactly alike.  There is no CNC machine...  No assembly line full of assistants filling orders...  No laser or water jet cutting...  No computer-aided automation...  Only one man, his hands, a machine shop, and his imagination...
