Age Tips

  • 1-4 months: Baby's vision is still quite limited, so he will enjoy viewing the mobile projection on the overhead canopy.
  • 4+ months: Now that baby's sight is fully developed, she can enjoy watching the ceiling projection, following the animals' movements and seeing them appear and disappear.

Baby Steps

  • Magical Night allows parents to easily moderate the level of stimulation. Activate the lights, movement, and music all together or introduce baby to just one feature at a time; play all 9 different tunes or introduce each one of the 3 categories separately; enjoy the full mobile experience or remove the overhead arm and use as a music box.
  • Reducing Stimulation: If your baby seems uncomfortable or restless (crying, averting her gaze, etc) reduce the level of stimulation. For example, turn the music, music projection, or movement on separately and monitor baby's reaction. Check whether baby shows preference for a certain tune.
  • Increasing Stimulation: If your baby seems uninterested or bored, he might need more stimulation. Turn the music, movement and lights on together. Gradually, reduce the number of stimuli to help baby focus.
  • Ceiling Projection: After baby turns 3 months, you can introduct the ceiling projection while monitoring baby's responses. The strong colors and large images could either intrigue baby or disconcert her. If she seems taken aback, introduce the feature and point to the ceiling explaining what she can see.
  • Did you know? Baby's reaction to the mobile projector may vary. When he is alert he might respond one way and when tired another. Adjust the use of the mobile and level of stimulation to baby's changing moods and needs (i.e. soft music and new features to help baby fall asleep or loused music and more features to keep him engaged, etc).
