Excellent Bachmann Spectrum 4-8-2 USRA Heavy Mountain Locomotive, Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) J2 Road # 543.

The HO scale USRA 4-8-2 Heavy Mountain J2 locomotives from Bachmann (Spectrum) are some of my favorite mass produced locomotives in the hobby. They run smooth and have a great look and feel. This version has the red glow in the fire box (as if the fire box door is open) and both a headlight on the locomotive and a reverse light on the Vanderbuilt tender. This one is like new, C-8 condition. I acquired it from a 3rd party, installed a Bachmann DCC decoder and tested it. That appears to be all the operation this locomotive has seen. This is a very clean and very smooth running machine! As a bonus, the locomotive can be operated in DC with the Bachmann decoder installed. So, this locomotive is both DCC and DC!

Features include:
  • DCC-equipped for speed, direction and lighting

  • Metal Wheels and Die-cast Chassis

  • Double brass flywheels

  • Extra electrical pickup in tender
  • Directional LED Headlight in Locomotive and Backup Light in Tender
  • EZ Mate Mark II couplers

Photos are of the actual locomotive for sale. Please review photos for actual condition of item. (Click picture(s) for better detail.)
