Sold ony to a Pay Pal CONFIRMED address ONLY. Nice set of Vintage highly rated Bausch & Lomb 8X42 Elite Binoculars with a 7 degree field of view. I'm not 100% sure of the model number and will describe what I see. Please add anything you can offer and I will post it for others to see. Written on the metal ribbed focus wheel at the front is.....Made in Japan BL and I see the model number as 61-2843 (however it might be 61-2848, I can't tell no matter how I look at different angles) The 61-2843 matches the detailed photos on several websites. Serial number is Z5437. The strap shows wear, but still seems sturdy, the case also shows wear. Only includes what is in the photos. Optics seem to be excellent. I see no fungus, major particles or other debris. The focus knob operates as it should. The right eye adjustment operates as it should (there's no adj on left). No rips, tears on the rubber armor. The glass surfaces have no scratches on the GLASS. They do have light cleaning marks, which are very very light scratches on the UV coatings from cleaning with something other than a cloth and liquid designed for that purpose. Mostly on the eyepiece end. On the left eyepiece glass there's a slightly larger cleaning mark about the size of a pin head. They are not major and have no effect on viewing. There is minor very light dust in the inner elements, normal for any glass lenses. I see only a tiny bit of haze, better than normal for a vintage pair of binoculars, again, no effect. The following info is from several sources available on the web, it's the best I can find to inform a buyer, please do your own research, as I can't be 100% sure. Most sites have them as waterproof, rain resistant. They certainly appear to be built that way. They provide excellent optical performance. If they're 61-2843 they are 2nd gen ver 1. Can focus as close as 10 ft 6 in.... I checked. they retailed at 1700.00. It is the Elite series of roof prism binoculars...believed to be uppendable prismed. They weigh approx 29 oz. They provide excellent sharpness and center-to-edge resolution. Again, please ask any questions or helpful knowledgeable info. Please ask before you purchase. I had two pairs of these and this is the second. I really enjoyed playing with them in the woods and on the Chesapeake Bay. They are an awesome piece of equipment and birding folklore. Signature required and confirmed address required. Thanks and best to you all!!
