This is a fully restored and serviced Seth Thomas 124 Movement Westminster Mantle/Mantel eight-day windup clock with key and pendulum. The clock has a soothing Tick-Tock with the correct number of chimes per hour and Westminster notes on the quarter hour.

The Details 

The Seth Thomas Tambour Westminster case has been stripped and new polyurethane applied; notice the striking old, hardwood grain.  The restoration was careful to maintain its antique appearance.   Wood structure is solid; walnut stained mahogany with hardwood inserts in the front under the face.  On the inside of the back door is the 124 movement instruction label.  The back door is solid; it opens and closes as designed.  This functional antique is dated in the 1920s.

The Seth Thomas Tambour Westminster has a silver plated face with inset Arabic numbers.  The bevel glass is in excellent condition with a small blemish on the upper side.  The silver plating on the face and bezel is aged and consistent with normal use.  The brass sash has the original crystal beveled glass, crystal--the sash opens and closes perfectly.  The hands are original and in excellent condition with minor aging and held firmly to the center pinion with a taper pin.  

The key for this Seth Thomas Westminster is stamped with the ST crest and is in excellent condition.  The pendulum weight is original to this clock and in very good condition; it shines and reflects beautifully.  

We disassembled the movement, cleaned all components, installed four new bushings, polished all the pivot points, applied new synthetic oil to each of the points. Bushings were needed on two time train wheels; two on the front and two on the back of the movement.  It has the original mainsprings, which were cleaned and oiled with Keystone Synthetic mainspring oil, please see the photo of the 124 movement.  

The movement for this antique time piece has been serviced and we will provide a 6-month warranty; with our synthetic oils, this family treasure will remain operational for many years. This Seth Thomas clock keeps time and chimes very well; we appreciate the Seth Thomas mechanical clocks for their workmanship and detail.

Refurbished antique clocks are excellent wedding, holiday, graduation, anniversary, retirement and birthday gifts. Our clock comes with a sturdy box for shipping and storage as well as detailed instructions for putting the clock into service. 

Our Shipping Process

For shipment, we carefully protect the moving parts inside the clock and then wrap in high quality bubble wrap. We will then fill the box with foam peanuts and nestle this antique in the middle.  We have had excellent shipping results due to our time and quality packing products.

Our Process

• We disassemble the entire clock and movement completely.
• Installed new US made parts on the movement if needed (mainly springs and pendulum suspension rods).
• Bushed all worn pivot holes with high quality Bergeon Bronze bushings as needed.
• Cleaned the entire movement using environmentally friendly cleaner.
• Cleaned the original dial, careful not to alter its original condition.
• Cleaned bezel, parts and chime rods by hand.
• Reassembled the clock, oil and lube in proper places.
• Adjusted chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes.
• Inspected and adjusted every minor detail of the clock assuring function and peak performance for many years to come.
