This is an extremely rare and unusual defensive parrying weapon from India, with a dagger blade for attack. The Saintie measures 18.25” (46.40cm) from tip to tip. From the blade tip to the back side of the handle is 8.25”. The distance between the knuckle-hand protector at the bottom, near the handle is 4.75”. The handle has a finely crafted, silver koftgari style floral pattern on each section of the handle and on the front of hand the protector. This is more of an acid wash/etching than an inlay. The condition is excellent overall. There is some loss of the floral pattern on different sections and the handle is missing a part of its chord wrap. This would make a great addition to any collection.
